The trip that changed it all:

New England winters are brutal, depressing and hard to get through. i've never liked them.
I made it a priority to escape it for a little in March (when there was STILL snow on the ground).
The trip i made was nothing like the one i expected, it was so much better.  I fell in love with a city, a man and a new dream of starting a life 3,000 miles away from everything i've ever known.

This dream turns into a reality May 1st.
